Augusto Reyes Vargas is a business administrator, he belongs to the fifth generation of a family of tobacco tradition from Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

In 1984 he began to work in the Dominican banking where he became financial director of the entity with only 28 years. In 1987 he joined the Flor de los Reyes family business, where he developed fundamental knowledge in the tobacco sector, learning from his family the entire tobacco production process from harvest to marketing.

A decade later, he made his way as an entrepreneur creating his own company De los Reyes Cigars, a free zone dedicated to the production and export of handcrafted cigars with the highest quality standards. With this project, he managed to export 12 million units of cigars per year, to 18 different countries, among which the United States, Spain and Switzerland stand out.

In 2011, given his great experience in the tobacco sector, he started a partnership with the company Swisher International, the number one company in sales of cigars in the United States, creating Swisher Dominicana.

Thanks to his vision, dedication and tenacity, Swisher Dominicana became the largest producer of cigars in the world, with a total of 17 billion cigars produced and exported to date. Currently Augusto Reyes Vargas is President of the Association of Free Trade Zone Companies and member of the American Chamber of Commerce in the DR, of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and Production, Adozona, Airen, Dominican Agribusiness Board and Procigar.
